ABOUT

Cove Waterways Management

Cove Waterways Management is a family owned and operated business with 14 years Marine and offshore construction experience. Our mission is to give future generations  waterways that are as good or better than the ones we grew up in and around.

With high density living, more river side developments, high levels of nutrient run off, single use packaging and rising temperatures, our waterways are starting to feel the strain. Here at Cove Waterways Management we have invested in purpose built vessels and equipment from Europe to help clean up and take the strain off our waterways.

With the Swedish built eco-friendly brand new model of the Truxor DM5045 amphibious machine,  we are able to provide river, lake, dam and pond weed cutting services that are gentle on the environment. Thanks to its low ground pressure and rubber tread, this machine can travel over land into ponds and

lakes witout any environmental damage.

Aside from our main service of cutting and collecting weeds and reeds, this machine also allows us to dredge, dig, excavate, vacuum environmental spills, spread absorbing chemicals, chip wood and perform numerous other tough jobs. We can also easily drive this vessel on and off a trailer so we are able to access any site, even the most remote with no need for a boat ramp.

OHS & E

Here at Cove Waterways Management OHS&E is a way of life. With 14 years Oil & Gas offshore construction experience we know the best practice for achiving zero harm to people, equipment and the environment. We also understand that the reputation of our clients and their stakeholders are affected by our performance when it come to OHS&E.

We have appointed Episafe, a leader in health and saftey in Oil & Gas, to give us the best platforms and tools for evaluating, mitigating and recording risks . We will be well underway in achiving ISO Certification for Quality, Saftey and Environment. This will help us achieve our goal of being a contractor of choice to Local and State governments.

Multifunctional Amphibious Machine

Cove Waterways Managements multifunctional amphibious machine has a wide range of tools and accessories. The amphibious nature allows our operators access to areas normally inaccessible to conventional machines. We have the ideal solution for work in lakes, canals and other wetland habitats. The weight distribution system gives low ground pressure and floating capacity to the machine, offering unique opportunities for work in sensitive environments.

Its flexibility, allows us to operate on water, in the shallow margins and on dry land at the waters edge. It’s lightweight construction is perfect for working in sensitive environments such as nature reserves, conservation areas, canal banks even golf courses where conventional contractor’s machinery may cause damage. This allows us to effectively carry out a wide range of tasks including reed cutting and collection, silt pumping, dredging, channel excavation, oil spill clean-up, and much, much more.

With this precision and flexibility It give's our operator full control in both narrow channels, around bridges and other water hazards. The machine turns easily on its own axis and will stop in less than half a metre from full speed forward.

Tools can be changed quickly and one person can easily operate the machine. This allows us to keep costs down for our clients.

The hydraulic pump has capacity control which means that the total power drain of the hydraulic output is balanced according to the output of the diesel motor. This makes it possible to use tools that require more power. Our machines are also equipped with a suction- type cooling fan with better cooling capacity and lower noise level.

Being lightweight and trailerable, we can tow our machine easily to site keeping costs down.

Grip Bucket

Grip Bucket and Log Grab

We use the grip bucket and log grab in shallow water and along shore lines, to remove plant roots, tree limbs and trash. As an example,  we are able to remove typha including rootball and rhizomes. By removing the whole plant you get less rotting material which creates nutrient rich sediment, while being able to maintain water depth.

This tool is attached to telescopic arm and operate to a depth of 1.7m

Grip bucket & Log grab

Work depth with telescopic extension is 1.7 m.
Work depth with mechanical bracket is approx. 0.9 m.

Deepwater Cutter

Cutting Submerged Aquatic Vegetation

We use this attachment when cutting submerged aquatic vegetation. The cutter is hydraulically driven and attached to the machines lift arm. Cutting depth is between 1 and 1.4 metres and the interchangeable blades give a cutting width from 2.2 to 4 metres.

A stone-release system protects the knives should they come into contact with underwater objects.

Wetland Cutter

Double Action Shallow Water Cutter

We use this cutter on fringing and submerged typha, It's ideal for working on reed beds, marshland and in shallow water. Also fitted with a stone-release system to prevent damage to the cutting blades.

Working width:  2,1 m

Cutting depth: 0,5 m

Reed Rake

Water Plant and Oil Collection

We use this for the collection and transport of plants after reed cutting. We fit the rake with strainer plates for collection smaller aquatic weeds like salvinia, amazon frogbit and duck weed. We can also pick up waste, algae and absorbents (oil spill clean-up).

Working width: 2 or 3,5 m

Spray Unit

Amphibious & Conventional Spraying

This 200L 12volt spray unit fits on our machine for amphibious herbicide spraying .It can also go on the Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 for conventional spraying. It is fitted with a hi flow turbo 400 nozzle.

Working width: 2 or 3,5 m

Ford Ranger XLT

Truxor and Weed Transport

The Ford ranger 4x4 is our tow vehicle, being able to tow with a normal car keeps clients costs down. It can also be fitted with our 200L Spray unit.

3.5ton Tipping trailer

Truxor and Weed Transport

This custom built tipping trailer not only makes it easy and low cost to mobilise our machine. It can be loaded with weed and transported to a more appropriate location.
